Born This Way Doesn't Rock At All

Lady Gaga'nın çok uzun zamandır beklenilen yeni parçası Born This Way'i dinlediniz mi? Bence dinleyin. Dinleyin ama, onun Lady Gaga parçası olduğunu unutarak dinleyin. Çünkü içinde o kaliteli sound dışında Lady Gaga'ya özgü hiçbir şey bulamadım ben.

Bu şarkıyı hem müzikal açıdan, hem de Lady Gaga'nın stili açısından eleştiriyorum. Birincisi, yaptığı şarkı kesinlikle inanılmaz klişe. Sözleri "ben çok orijinal bir insanım, elimde değil, ne yaparsam yapayım ben böyle biriyim" şeklinde sözler olduğu için, ben müziğinde inanılmaz şaşırtıcı ve farklı bir şeyler bekliyordum. Çünkü bundan önceki şarkılarında öyle bir iddiası olmamasına rağmen hep farklı ve yenilikçiydi. Şimdi ise yenilikten eser yok, her yerde duyduğumuz, klasik bir armonisi olan dümdüz bir pop melodisi bu.

İkincisi, belki bazı insanlar "işte bu da Lady Gaga'nın şaşırtma tarzı, hep ondan yenilik beklenildiği için bu sefer klişe bir şey yaptı, ironisi zaten orada!" falan diye onu savunmaya kalkabilir. Hiç girişmeyin, ikna olacağımı sanmıyorum. Evet şarkı güzel bir şarkı, grubumda çalabilirim bile, ama hiç Lady Gaga kokusu yok içinde. Ben o şarkıyı dinlerken, Pink söylüyormuş gibi hayal ediyorum ve bu hiç hoşuma gitmiyor. Love Game, Poker Face, Alejandro veya Bad Romance'teki o aromadan bu şarkıda eser yok.

En büyük hayal kırıklığı da Lady Gaga'nın aylardır bu şarkının sözlerini yayınlayarak reklamını yapmış olmasına rağmen şarkının böyle vasat bir şey çıkmasından doğdu. Ben Lady Gaga'nın üretken ve yenilikçi yönünü seviyorum, pop dinlemememe rağmen onun şarkılarını sevmemin ve dinlememin en büyük sebeplerinden biri bu. Ama o şarkıyı dinlediğimde onu Pink söylüyormuş gibi hissedersem ne anlarım ben Gaga'dan?

Neyse, ben de gagamı böyle işlere bulaştırmış olayım. Bir sonraki sefere eski temposuna geri dönmesini bekliyoruz.

Have you listened to the brand new single of Lady Gaga, Born This Way? I think you should. But you have to forget that the song belongs to Gaga when you're listening to it, since it has nothing to do with her style.


I make my critique on this song from both musical aspect and the aspect of Gaga's style. First of all, the song she made is unbelievably cliche. I expected a surprising and a very original music, since its lyrics were like "I'm beautiful in my way, I'm on the right track baby" which feels like "I'm so original I can't help it". Her songs before this one had very original music even if they didn't have lyrics like that, so I didn't expect this song to be this normal. She used to be innovative and different, bu this song is nothing innovative, not for me.


Second, maybe some people would defend her by saying some things like "See? This is what Gaga is, she created a song which is not so original and she surprised every one!". Sorry, I don't think I'm going to be convinced. Yes, Born This Way is a beautiful song and I liked it, but it has no scent of Lady Gaga in it. When I'm listening to it, I fell like Pink is singing the song and I don't like this feeling. There is no trace of the fragrance that was very clear in her songs like Love Game, Poker Face, Alejandro or Bad Romance.


The biggest dissappoinment is that Lady Gaga advertised this song for months by writing the lyrics everywhere (like Twitter or Facebook) as if it was going to be a shockingly original song, but it came out to be nothing but a normal pop song. I like the creative and innovative sides of Gaga and this is the reason I listen to her songs despite not ejoying listening to pop music. But if I feel like Pink is singing it, than why would I listen to the song thinking it as Gaga's? I would listen to it only because it is a catchy song which has the musical characteristics of a regular pop song, except for its sound.


Whatever, this is my comment on the new song. I've been waiting to write these since the last Friday (when the song was first introduced), but I thought I might get used to the song and maybe change my mind a little bit. Well, I didn't. I hope, after this period, Lady Gaga will perform just like she did before.
